"I just don't understand why you've been doing this all day," you muttered to your friend Feliks.
He just smiled his not-so-innocent smile at you. "What do you mean, (F/n)?"
You sighed and let your head hang over the side of your bed. "These stupid quizzes and horoscopes."
The Polish boy didn't even look up from his current test. "They are not stupid." Looking up at you from his spot on the floor he asked you yet another question that may somehow help you find your 'true love', "What's your sign?"
Letting out heavier sigh, you answered him and listened as he read another horoscope off of another glossy magazine article. "You will find your one true love-"
"Only after you sort out your priorities in life."
He pouted up at you. "(F/n)," he said, tone warning.
Rolling over to look at him, you grinned at your girlish friend. "What?" you whined.
"That's not what it says!"
You peered over his shoulder to read the magazine. "Yes it is."
He grinned at you, caught in his lie, "Alright, it is." Throwing the magazine onto the floor, Feliks looked up at you and groaned, "Well what will you do then? You need a boyfriend."
Smirking and only slightly offended, you rested your chin on your folded arms and swung your feet in the air.
"I'll be wearing ribbons down my back, this summer."
You lifted your head onto your hands, using your elbows to hold your chin up higher. The blonde boy lifted himself from the floor and threw himself next to you, listening to you sing with a dreamy smile.
"Blue, and green, and streaming in the yellow sky!"
From the corner of your eye, you saw his lips move and he muttered something about 'pink'.
"So if someone special comes my way, this summer
He might notice me passing by."
Dramatically, you lifted yourself off of your plush mattress and jumped into a standing position.
I'll try to make it easier to find me in the stillness of July,
Because a breeze might stir a rainbow up behind me
That might happen to catch the gentleman's eye."
Feliks blew a tuft of white blonde hair out of his face, his deep green eyes watching you intently. You smiled and grabbed his hands, pulling him off of the bed and close to you as you spun around the room.
"And he might smile and take me by the hand, this summer.
Making me recall how lovely love can be!"
The small Polish man pulled you even closer and positioned your hands to waltz around the room. A wide grin planted itself on your face, making a small smile appear on his.
"And so I will proudly wear
Ribbons down my back
Shining in my hair!"
The dance stopped, though your hands remained where they were. With a gentle smile on his face, Feliks led you back to your bed, where you sat once more.
"That he might notice me."
You sighed, realizing that your whole dream of getting together with your best friend and having a decent relationship could never happened. "Let's just get back to the quizzes."
Feliks's happy expression noticeably dropped, though he attempted to keep it up for the girl he loved.
But no ribbons could make her notice him.
